SPIESS, JAMES CARLOS Age 87, a longtime resident, died Saturday, December 21, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Helen; his children, Carlos, Jimmy, John, Maree, Matt, Margaret, Mike, Joseph; 16 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and 3 step-children, Sue, Sondra, and Gary. He was in the "10th Ranger Company" in the Korean War and an active member of the American Legion. He was in the National Guard with the rank of Captain, also a member of the NRA, and a member of the ZIA Gun Club. Services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at 10:00 am, at FRENCH - University. The Military Burial Service will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45pm.
