 SMITH, JEAN CAROL On December 22, 2013, Jean entered into eternal rest with her Lord Jesus. She was born June 1, 1924 in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania to George Frazier Gray and Mazie English Gray. She is survived by her daughter, Loretta Jean McBee; and son, Lawrence Eugene Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 68 years, Lyle Eugene Smith. Jean was a member of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church where in the late 1980's she served in lay ministry as a Stephen's Minister. Jean graduated from Hunter High School in New York City in 1943 and continued her education at night in Hunter College while working for Banker's Trust. She came West in 1945 and married Lyle Smith on December 20, 1945. She was a wonderful mother and a faithful wife. Per Jean's wishes, she will be cremated and a private family service will take place.
