WORKMAN, THEODORE EDWARD Theodore Workman, our beloved husband, father, & grandfather, slipped the surly bonds of earth and entered his heavenly home on December 15, 2013. He was loved deeply and will be dearly missed. Ted was an adventurous spirit who lived his life with integrity and grace, setting an inspiring example for his family and friends. Ted was born on April 29, 1932 in Oxford, Michigan. Ted was the first in his family to attend college, and he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wyoming. Ted honorably served his country as a fighter pilot in the Air Force for more than 27 years. His career afforded him the chance to visit 30 countries. Highlights from his service include a world record-setting transatlantic flight, selection as a test pilot, and numerous awards including the Distinguished Flying Cross. Ted met the love of his life, Jane Ann Rosson, during flight training in Victoria, Texas. They married on August 29, 1957 and were married for over 56 years. Their family is an ever-growing clan affectionately known as "Workman's Wingmen". Ted was an avid supporter of all of his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their performances and sporting events. Ted enjoyed playing the trombone from his days in the University of Michigan Marching Band to time spent in various community orchestras. He believed strongly in helping others and volunteered many years for Presbyterian Hospital, the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. He also shared his expertise as a volunteer tax preparer and as a coach for the Junior Olympic Shooting Team. Ted was preceded in death by his father and mother; Edward Workman and Doris Geisler.
