Obituary for HARRISON

HARRISON, PETER D'ARCY Died Sunday, December 15. He was born September 19, 1937 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Leonard Harrison and Winnifred Mary Crook. He received his BA and MA from the University of Toronto and his PhD in Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania. Peter worked as an archaeologist at the Maya site of Tikal in Guatemala for many years. He also taught at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario from 1966-76. In New Mexico he was a Senior Research Associate at the Maxwell Museum, and at the time of death was the director of the Tikal Project West. Peter is survived by wife of 47 years Alexandra; son Andreas (Leia) of Willowbrook, Illinois; sisters Susan Harrison and Mary Elizabeth Milko; niece, nephew, and numerous first cousins. Cremation has taken place and interment will occur at a later date.
