 POWELL, LAURA 1919-2013 Laura Powell, age 94, a resident of Belen, NM since 1962, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 06, 2013. She was born in Spokane, WA on January 7, 1919 and was raised in Harlem, MT. Laura married LeRoy Powell in 1948 and together raised four children. She was a devoted housewife and a wonderful mother. Laura worked beside her husband first on the farm and then in the family business Powell Landscaping. She loved her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy; parents, Hans and Mabel Peterson; brother, Erling Peterson; an infant son and daughter. Laura is survived by her daughter, Charlene Moore and husband, Dorsey of Los Lunas; three sons, George Powell of Los Lunas, Victor Powell and Sharon of Albuquerque and Ernest Powell and wife, LaDonna of Corpus Christi, TX; four loving grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous loving step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sister, Blanche Jobes of Chehalis, WA; niece, Karen Harrison and nephew, Jerry Jobes Jr. All services will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, on Monday, December 9, beginning with a Viewing at 12:30 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andy Powell, JT Hays, Gerald Chilimidos, Jarred Chilimidos, Clay Cox and Chuck George. Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry and John Moore.
