WEST, GEORGE ROBERT (BOB) Of Albuquerque, NM passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 30, 2013. George was born December 25, 1925 to the late Sylvia Walton Beasley and Warren Earl West in Afton, WY. He is survived by his special friend, Geraldine Lessard, the love of his life for 24 years; a son, Robert Dower of Dansville, NY; a daughter, Carol Cobb of Denver, CO; grandson, Andrew Cobb; two great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his brothers, Earl West and Jack West and grandson, Justin Cobb. He attended schools in Wyoming and graduated in 1943 before entering the U.S. Army as a radio man in the Signal Corp. from 1943 to 1946 in World War II. He attended the University of Wyoming and the University of Colorado before moving to Albuquerque in 1959. George was employed and retired from Albuquerque Public Schools Maintenance and Operations Department in 1979. Graveside Services with military honors will be held Thursday, December 12, 2013, 12:45 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
