GOMEZ, EDWINA Age 89, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2013 of natural causes. Edwina is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Martinez and husband Lorenzo; grandchildren Eddie Valdez, Lawrence Martinez, David Martinez, Juanita Valdez, and Gabriel Trujillo; 16 great-grandchildren; & 12 great-great-grandchildren. Edwina is also survived by her very close niece Josie Zamora. She was preceded in death by her parents Dometilio and Josephina Apodaca, her siblings, Emma Perea, Rosita Griego, Faustina Griego, Maria Chavez, Telefor Apodaca, Ramon Apodaca, and Joe Apodaca, daughters Mary Valdez, and Belinda Gomez, grandchildren Jerry Valdez and Dorieanne Valdez. Edwina loved to be outside tending her flowers and garden. She also enjoyed tending to the various pets she kept at her home. She will be missed by her family and friends but her spirit will live on forever. Family would like to thank Ambercare and the staff at St. Theresa Healthcare and Rehab Center for the love and care they gave Edwina. Services will be on Thursday, December 5, 2013, Viewing will take place at 8:00 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 8:30 a.m. and a funeral Mass at 9:00a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Rd. SW.
