PEREA, CANDELARIA Candelaria (Candie) R. Perea was born in Vadito, NM on May 34, 1915. Her parents, now deceased, were Benito Romero and Rafaelita Lopez. She attended private school with the Dominican Nuns in Penasco, NM and at El Rito Normal School. Candie was a Postmistress in Lyden for 11 years. Then she began a career as a cashier that lasted 37 years. She enjoyed her life in New Mexico and California. She opened her own beauty shop at age 65 until her health deteriorated due to a severe car accident. Candie and Clovis Perea were married on August 5, 1973. They enjoyed 40 years together. She is survived by her beloved husband, Clovis; and her children from a prior marriage, Jose M. (Rosely) Valdez Jr., Barbara (Al) DeAnda, Connie (Louie) Valdez, James Donald Valdez; and her stepchildren Cecilia (Perea), Soto, Clovis Perea Jr., and Sam Perea. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Candie was loving wife and a caring mother, grandmother, and aunt. The Viewing will take place at Heights Seventh-day Adventist Church on Wyoming on Monday, December 2 at 9am to 11am. Services at Heights Seventh-day and interment at Sunset Memorial Park will follow viewing.
