 SAMEK, DANIEL BENJAMIN August 25 1930 - November 4, 2013 Dan was born in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi to Genevieve Anna Scoby and Daniel Webster Samek. Dan is survived by his loving wife, Mary E. "Betty" Samek; his brother Harold Wallace Schultz; his son Charles Daniel Earl Samek; his daughter Nancy Rebecca Samek Sutton (Timothy); and his four grandchildren Damian (Chantal), Ben, Katie, and Andy. Dan spent his growing up years in Birmingham, Alabama, always considered Birmingham his hometown, and was a proud American. Dan was a resident of Albuquerque for 40 plus years and was married to Betty for 65 years. You may have known him at Prudential Insurance Company or The Trophy Case. Dan was an avid Alabama football fan, had a wonderful sense of humor, along with a booming voice which made him easy to remember. Dan never missed an opportunity to spoil his grandchildren or grandpuppy and will be greatly missed by his many friends and loving family. God blessed us real good. A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Presbyterian Church at 114 Carlisle Blvd. SE on Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Animal Humane Society in memory of Dan.
