Obituary for DYKE

DYKE, ARTHUR EDMUND passed away peacefully Saturday morning, October 19, 2013, with his family by his side. He was born March 23, 1927, in Pueblo, Colorado. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Dorothy G. Dyke, to whom he was married for 63 years. Arthur was also preceded in death by his mother Anna Lee Rettig, and his sister Ruth Lovelady. Arthur was a well-respected businessman in the automobile industry, selling cars and motor homes. He opened Albuquerque's first indoor tennis club in the 1970s. After he retired he and Dorothy traveled the country in their RV and made many great friends. He is survived by his daughters Gayle Elledge (Dave) and Jan Fisher (Ulrich), and his sons Arthur Kim Dyke (Patricia) and John Mark Dyke (Jen). He adored his grandchildren, Heather Zimny (Brian), Alicia Hidalgo (Stuart), Amy and Stephanie Dyke, Samantha Dyke, Kris Bailey and Collins Caskey, as well as seven great-grandchildren. According to Dorothy he was the best husband imaginable. His child were fortunate to have such a kind and loving dad. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers you may donate to Kaseman Hospice of Albuquerque. A memorial service will take place at 10:30 am October 24th at Daniels Funeral Home at 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
