Obituary for MEASE

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday September 27, 2013

MEASE, GLEN WILLIAM Glen passed away on September 16, 2013 in Conroe, TX. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Marcy Mease and Lynne Daves and the rest of his extended family and many friends who benefited from his amazing generosity over the years. He loved cars, music, sports and people, not necessarily in that order. Born in 1936 in Erie, Pennsylvania to Marie and John Mease, Glen graduated from Heidelberg High School in Germany where his father was stationed in the Army. An avid jock, Glen lettered in football, baseball and track. After high school he attended the Citadel in South Carolina and played football for the Army in Hawaii. Eventually, he made his way to Albuquerque on a football scholarship with the UNM Lobos. Once in Albuquerque, Glen started a family and established himself as a businessman and entrepreneur by opening Home Carpet Center and investing in real estate. He eventually moved to Houston, Texas where he owned and operated an auto salvage yard and is survived by his wife Catherine Thormin-Mease. For the last three years he fought a courageous battle and is now at peace. There will be no funeral, but a celebration of his life is planned for a future date.
