VARGAS, RAUL SR. age 88, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 6, 2013 at home with his family at his side. Mr. Vargas is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Alejandrina; children, Juan Vargas and wife, Connie, Raul Vargas Jr., and wife, Debbie, Alma Santiago and husband, Mingo, Mona Trujillo and husband, Michael, Barney Vargas; fifteen grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a special cousin, Barbara Avalos. Mr. Vargas was preceded in death by his daughter, Eileen Vargas; and grandson, Joshua Trujillo. Raul was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during WWII. Visitation will Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 Plaza NW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final visitation will be Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. at San Felipe de Neri Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Domingo Santiago Jr., Eloy Garcia, Eloy Garcia Jr., Vincent Trujillo, Christopher Trujillo, and Ray Santiago.
