Obituary for YEAGER

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday August 22, 2013

YEAGER, RICHARD C. On July 28, 2013, at just 64 years old, the gates of Cowboy Heaven opened and welcomed Richard Carl Yeager. Richard was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, born to Lyomal and Christine Yeager, March 24, 1949. He graduated from Valley High School and was employed by GE Aviation for 40 years. Richard loved the rodeo and spent his younger years in the rodeo circuit riding bucking bulls and horses earning multiple championship buckles. He was a longtime volunteer at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta from its very beginning until just last year as a launch director. His presence at the early morning balloon launches will be sorely missed. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and mornings would find him with his friends at the local dearlership getting caught up on events. He was a member of the "Old Coots on Scoots" motorcycle group. Richard is survived by his daughters Tammy Cater-Yeager, Debbie Burch; his son Casey; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson; his sister Luella Trinka; nieces and a nephew; and a host of cousins. He leaves behind as well his fiancee, Nancy Johnson and his "adopted" family on her side who grew to love him dearly. Although gone too soon, our memories will keep you near to us. Until we meet again, "Good ride Cowboy, good ride."
