Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday July 07, 2013

ROBBERSON, REX DALE went to a better place, at the age of 72, Tuesday, June 25, 2013. Rex was a fourth generation New Mexican. He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly D. (Cooper) Robberson; son, William Stanley and his wife Kay E.; grandson William Alexander and his mother, Pauline B., all of Albuquerque; brother Joseph Patrick Jr. and wife Kathy of Colorado; sister Betty Barron of Arizona; and nieces, nephews and friends. Rex was preceded in death by his father Joseph Patrick Sr. and sister Kathy Anderson. He proudly served his country in the Air Force from 1962 until 1971 when he received an honorable discharge. Rex attended Sandia High School and was a graduate of UNM where he was on the Honor Roll. He retired from Sears as the National Labor Relations Director where he worked at the Sears Tower and resided for 30 years, with his family, in Crystal Lake, IL. He returned to New Mexico to serve for then Governor Gary Johnson as State Personnel Director. He was active in his neighborhood H.O.A. and his men's golf association. When it came to helping family and friends in need, he was selfless. Rex was an avid golfer and loved his time with his friends on Tanoan Golf Course. His son and grandson are sure he is in heaven reminding someone to "keep that left arm straight and their head down". Rex loved to fish and hunt. He went every year with his friends to Jackson Hole, WY. There will be a Celebration of his life, for family, on July 13, 2013 and another one for his many friends and neighbors sometime in mid to late August. Rex was so loved by family and friends alike, he will be greatly missed.
