Obituary for KING

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday July 07, 2013

KING, ELIZABETH a native New Mexican, born Nov 10, 1942 passed away Sunday June 30, 2013 after a two year battle with lung cancer. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Donaciano Lovato Sr. and Fabiola Francis Lovato and her brother, Jose (Joe) Alfredo Lovato. She is survived by her three brothers, Don Lovato Jr., Peter Lovato, and Joseph Anthony Lovato; and four daughters, Theresa Blea, Mary Flores, Tammy Sherfy and La Vonda King. Lisa, as she was known, loved the outdoors, loved her family and was extraordinarily generous. As the primary caregiver for both her parents, she made the last few years of their lives, safe, happy and dignified. Fortunately for all of us, she also had time to support others, including sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren - her life revolved around her family! And when she did find time for herself, she definitely made up for it - you could say she was a highly caffeinated social butterfly with extra large wings. Always ready to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger or help someone in need, she was a steady voice with a steady hand and a beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed! A Rosary will be recited on Friday, July 12 at 9:30 a.m. with a Memorial Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m. at the Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to any charitable cancer research organization of your choice.
