Obituary for KEYS

KEYS, MADELEINE PEPIN, PHD Dr. Madeleine Pepin Keys, 69, passed away peacefully on June 19th at her home in Albuquerque. Dr. Keys is survived by her husband of 47 years David Keys; daughters and sons David, Christine, Michele, William and Lara Keys; grandchildren Cassandra Turner, Shane Barrett, David, Gordon, Graeme, Hamish Taylor and Henry Keys; and great-grandchildren Blaze and Tripp Turner. Dr. Keys was preceded in death by her son Linzy, granddaughter Haley Keys, parents Henry and Margaret Pepin, and sister Jeanine Peterson. Dr. Keys was a renowned academic, studying Law, Medicine and Psychology before settling into Philosophy as a lifelong passion and profession. She received her Baccalaureate from Portland State University, two Masters degrees from the University of Idaho, and a Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Texas Austin. She was the first woman to ever be offered a fellowship in Philosophy at UT Austin. She taught Philosophy at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio. After 20 years she retired and moved to Boise Idaho, where she was an adjunct professor at Boise State. She also started her own businesses in Web Design, Corporate Education and Logic Application techniques. Dr. Keys and her husband relocated to Albuquerque, her childhood roots, last June. The family will be having a celebration of her life and her accomplishments on Sunday, June 23, from 1:00 until 3:00 at the family home.
