 HEID, VICTOR E. Age 78, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013. He was born in Buffalo, NY on February 25, 1935, to Louis and Bertha Schmidt Heid. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis C. and Bertha O. (Schmidt) Heid, brother, Roy Heid. Victor is survived by wife, Anna L. Heid of Rio Rancho, NM, children, Don Heid and wife Susan of Mill Creek, WA, John Heid and wife Luana of Cave Creek, AZ, Jeff Heid of Rio Rancho, NM; grandchildren, Lauren, Cole, Max, Jake, Jacob, Alyssa; sister, Phyllis Trietley; numerous nieces and nephews. Victor and Anna (Shakley) were married on May 28, 1966 in Olean, NY. Victor attended college at the State University of New York where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in education. After college he went on to teach at Boces County Vocational School. He was employed at Worthington Corp for 7 years; GTE Lenkurt for 6 years, where he received an award for "Employee of the Year" in 1981. He was also employed at both Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories for a total of thirteen years. In his spare time he enjoyed refinishing furniture and was the neighborhood handyman that everyone relied upon. He was a hunting and fishing enthusiast, a respected Boy Scout Leader and a member of the Jaycees. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Daniel Family Funeral Services - Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
