PEIRONNET, HETTIE HUEY MARTIN "Was here - went thereTo God be the Glory!"...That's all mom wanted for her obituary. :) Hettie was a loving, generous lady who blessed many during her 74 years. The fun and beautiful daughter of Walter and Louise Huey, lived in many places as a child and learned to love all types of people. In her teen years, her father's oil business brought them to the Durango, CO area where she graduated from Durango HS in 1956. After attending Ft Lewis Jr College and working in a bank Hettie married Don Martin, a NM Game Warden. While married, they lived in Cuba, Carlsbad, Roswell and Santa Fe and had two kids, Monica and Karl. During her time in Santa Fe, in the 70s, Hettie lobbied for Bilingual Education and helped in her children's school. After a divorce and living in CA for a year, she returned to Abq and later married Jim Peironnet. His daughter Cheryl and her husband Mel became very important and beloved members of Hettie's family for many years. Active in the Republican Party, working at Sanger Harris & Classic Century Square, Hettie brought joy to the lives of many people. They attended Calvary Chapel before moving to Pagosa Springs, CO in 1988. A few years later, after a divorce, Hettie returned to Abq with her son, Karl and was active in several ministries including NM Boys Ranch and bible studies in town. She has attended Queen of Heaven Parish with her close friends for more than a decade. She is survived by her two children, Karl Martin, Monica Martin Holt, her husband Greg Holt and their children Kristen and Tyler. Hettie will be greatly missed, but we are happy she is rejoicing with her Lord in heaven! The funeral will be held at Queen of Heaven Parish on Tuesday, 5/28 at 11:00am.
