Obituary for LANE

LANE, WILLIAM T. "BUDDY" Age 77, passed away on Tuesday, April 23 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mr. Lane is survived by his daughters Brenda Kai and her husband Robert Kai, Bridget Gilbert and her husband Glenn Gilbert; his son Brian Lane and his wife Pati Lane; along with five grandsons and two great-grandchildren. He was born and raised in Texas and graduated from Muleshoe High School, where he met and married the love of his life, Jo Ann Dalton. They remained happily married for 54 years until her death in 2008. Mr. Lane served for twelve years in the military, which allowed him and his family to travel to places like Cape Canaveral where they met John Glenn, witnessed the early space flights, and Izmir, Turkey where he learned to scuba dive. After leaving the military, Mr. Lane moved his family to Albuquerque, New Mexico where he started the Executive Insurance Agency. He not only took pride in his business, but truly enjoyed the many friends he made during his time in business. Mr. Lane was a cowboy in spirit and enjoyed competing in the sport of team penning. He volunteered with the 4H Club in Edgewood, New Mexico, was an avid fan of Louis L'amour western novels, and enjoyed camping and the outdoors. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 12:00 pm at Daniels Family Funeral Services Carlisle Chapel, followed by a graveside service at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Mr. Lane's name to the "Wounded Warrior" fund.
