PAPAFRANGOS, OLYMPIA S. (BIA) Olympia died March 7, 2013 at the age of 88. She was born Olympia Striggles in Des Moines, IA to Greek immigrants Demos and Georgia (Alexandropoulos) Striggles. Bia was a singer and a pianist before marrying her husband, S. Charles Papafrangos in 1951. She and Charlie settled in Okmulgee, OK where they lived together for 50 years, raising their three children and managing the Belmont Hotel and Bishop's Restaurant. Bia acted as accountant for both businesses as well as for the Coca Cola Company in Okmulgee and in Tulsa. She was a longtime member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Tulsa, and was an active member of the Okmulgee Service League and Wednesday Morning Music Club. Much of her life was devoted to supporting her children in civic and school organizations. Bia was companion, partner, and devoted caregiver for her husband until his death in 2001. She continued her love of music and support of her children for many years after that. She passed away at the home of her daughter in Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband S. Charles Papafrangos and her son Charles S. Papafrangos, as well as nephew Phillip Striggles, brother Ted Striggles and sister Dolly Preftakes. She is survived by her sister Anne Pappageorge of Copperopolis, CA; son Ted Papafrangos of Norman, OK; her daughter Elaine Papafrangos; son-in-law Lou Trost; and grandchildren Alexandra, Gregory, and Laura Trost; all of Albuquerque, NM. Bia and her family are especially grateful for the support of her many friends and caregivers, including Mike Miller, Craig Brydges and Felicia Barron in Okmulgee and Lupe Astorga Ana Lozoya in Albuquerque.
