 DODD, VELLA L. Memorial services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Faith Baptist Church, Artesia, N.M. for Vella Lou Dodd of Artesia. Mrs. Dodd, 74, died Monday, November 19, 2012 in Albuquerque, N.M. Cremation has taken place. Vella was born March 5, 1938 in Melrose, N.M.; the daughter of Henry Hartsfield and Vera (Hightower) Hartsfield. She came to Artesia in 1997 from Albuquerque. On March 13, 1974 she was married to Carl L. Dodd in Clovis, N.M. She was a housewife and member of Faith Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Survivors include her husband Carl Dodd of the family home; a son Scott Dodd of Albuquerque; daughters Becky Finney of Littlefield, Texas, Darla Dodd of Albuquerque and Tammy Williams of Artesia; brother Dudley Hartsfield of Clovis; sister Donnie Stickley of Phoenix, Arizona; six grandchildren; & ten great-grandchildren.
