Obituary for MASON

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Friday November 16, 2012

MASON, AMBER ESTELLE Amber passed unexpectedly on November 1, 2012 into the peace that passes understanding. Amber was born June 30, 1976 in Glendora, California. She always considered herself a California girl, even though she was raised mainly in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Amber attended elementary school at Earthsong, then Eisenhower Middle School, La Cueva and Albuquerque High, and graduated from Freedom High School in 1994. She attended UNM for one year; there she auditioned and was accepted into the 100 voice choir. She brought joy and comfort to so many with her blessed gift of song. Her passions included music, piano, literature, Irish culture, the arts, fashion, dancing, traveling and camping, especially near water. Amber had an exquisite ability to comfort and befriend all those she crossed paths with and knew. Her love of animals was known by everyone, particularly "Bob" her pitbull. She is remembered for her amazing smile and infectious laugh, her quick wit and intelligence. She is survived by her mother Maureen Barre; her sister Spring Beavers; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. Her family will miss her and we curse the drugs that took her from us. A memorial reception will be held on Sunday, November 18th, from 2:00 - 4:00pm at the Park House, 5609 Ponderosa NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. All are welcome who wish to pay their respects.
