Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday November 11, 2012

GASKIN, FRANCES ELAINE "MIMI" Age 91, was born February 3, 1921 to Winnie and Lynn Schnabel in Stephenville, Texas. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Edwin Carlton Gaskin and her son, Edwin Carlton Gaskin, Jr. God called her home November 8, 2012. She is survived by daughters, Rebecca E. Freeman, Dallas, TX; Juliet E. Rowland, (Bruce) Albuquerque; Carol "Bicky" White, Tiki Island, TX and son through love: Robert "Keddie" Rowland of Albuquerque. Daughters through love are Karen Hardwick, Henderson, NV. and Melinda Fey, Mesquite, TX. Grandchildren are Leah Rowland (Fiance Josh Tallent) and Katrina Rowland all of Albuquerque; David Rowland of Denver, CO; Robin White Rust (husband Larry II) of Denver, CO; Robert "Bobby" White, Dallas TX; Susan White (fiance Vincent Buss) Plano, TX; grandchildren through love Jill Spatafore, Henderson, NV, and Kelly Hardwick, Austin, TX. Great grandchildren are Monique and Ethan Rowland, both of Albuquerque. Harve Keith Boyd, III of Plano, Texas is her only nephew. Frances was a waterwoman, loving water in any form (including bourbon and branch water). At age 90 she and her daughters and two grandchildren frolicked in the surf in Galveston, TX. She made friends easily and still maintained to her death communications with her college friends from Tarlton State University. She was the best grandmother in the whole world as attested by all the grands. Of course, Mimi not only let them run wild, but cheered them on. She loved animals, especially felines, and leaves her beautiful teenage cat boys, Chuco and Jordan. An avid Cowboys fan with a house full of football memorabilia, Frances flew many times to Dallas to witness Cowboys games. Most of all she was a staunch Christian, still attending every Sunday, truly knowing her Bible to the extent of knowing who begat whom. Her shining light will be woefully missed by her family and friends. Frances' homecoming celebration will be held Monday, November 12, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at Evangel Ministries, 10405 Comanche. Officiant will be Pastor Brad Ficklin. Internment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 924 Menaul Blvd NE. Honorary pallbearers will be Barbara and Paul Becht and Helen and John Wagner. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army. Please visit our online guest book for Frances at www.FrenchFunerals.com. FRENCH 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE (505) 823-9400
