WRIGHT, WILLIAM F. DR. Dr. William F. Wright, at age 89, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012. He is survived by his son, Dr. William F. Wright, Jr. of Hobbs, NM; his daughter, Teresa Clack and husband, Robert of Florissant, MO; and two grandchildren, John and Jenna Clack. Bill was born on April 13, 1923, in Pennville, IN to Reverend Fred and Leota Wright. He graduated from high school in Mishawaka, IN. His undergraduate degree was a B.A. in Political Science from Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, IL. During registration, on his first day at Olivet, Bill met his best friend and future wife, the love of his life, Essie Pearl Frost. After Bill decided to become an educator, he attended Indiana State University for his teaching credentials. His master's degree was from Ball State University in Muncie, IN and his Ed.D was earned at Northern Colorado College in Greeley, CO. After teaching several years in Monon and Rensselaer, Indiana, Bill and Essie moved to Albuquerque, NM to start careers with the Albuquerque Public School System. Bill's first year of teaching was at Emerson Elementary School in 1952. He then became principal at Lavaland Elementary School from 1953-1956. John Adams Junior High was being built, and it was Bill's honor to serve as its first principal from 1956-1958. His high school administrative assignments were at Albuquerque High School from 1958-1969 and at Highland High School from 1969-1983. After his retirement, Bill enjoyed spending time at his ranch in Lindrith, NM. Bill and his son enjoyed aviation. They both had a private pilot's license. Whether travel was by commercial or private aircraft, Bill loved to visit out-of-state family or vacation to new places. Bill served his community as a Rotarian and was very interested in both state and national politics. In fact, each day was started with a cup of coffee and a newspaper to keep up with current events. For over 60 years, Bill has been a member of Heights First Church of the Nazarene. He was always aware of God's presence in his life and was diligent to pray for daily guidance. His heart was full of gratitude for his many blessings. At this time of loss, his family takes great comfort in the knowledge that he is at home with the Lord and is re-united with his dear wife. His very special siblings: Francille, Joe, Rosalie, and Morton also preceded him in death. Services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012, 1:00 p.m., at Heights First Church of the Nazarene, 8901 Paseo del Norte NE, with Pastor John Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
