ASTORGA, BERTHA JUNE SALCE SHAPIRO Bertha passed away on August 24, 2012 in Las Vegas, NV. She is survived by her son Nathan Shapiro; three step-children: Felene Koen, Mike Astorga and Kyle Astorga; her sister Vivian Bonner; and many beloved grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Cathleen Salce; and her husband, Joe Astorga. Her brother, Richard Salce passed away on October 26, 2012. Bertha was born on August 13, 1937 and raised in Corrales, New Mexico. She had moved to New Jersey when she was married to her first husband, Art Shapiro. She gave birth to her only son, Nathan, and also managed and ran various companies while there. She returned to New Mexico and during this time she met, Joe Astorga, whom she married and moved to Las Vegas, NV with. They worked together on several different successful business ventures. Bertha was known as a very kind, gentle soul and will be missed dearly by all that were lucky enough to be a part of her life. She was extremely caring and compassionate and touch- ed the lives of many people.
