 CHAVEZ, TIBO (TIBURCIO) DEACON went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 01, 2012 at the age of 80. Tibo was born March 9, 1932 in Claunch, NM. Tibo is survived by his wife of 57 years Amy (Amelia Lopez) Chavez; four sons, John Lopez and Maria, Henry and wife Candi, Michael and wife Viola, Andy and wife Julia; three daughters, Liz and husband Bobby Roberts, Barbara and Steven Naranjo, Victoria and Chris Gomez; one adopted daughter, Mary Andre; three sisters, Carol and husband Carl Borders, Leonicia Torres, Gloria and husband Daryll Okra; 32 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends who loved him very much. Tibo was preceded in death by his two sons, John Anthony and Jerry Daniel; his parents Ignacio and Antonia Chavez; two sisters, Cecelia Milligan and Ermelinda Torres; two brothers, Ralph and Victor. Tibo was a Deacon for 25 years at St. Anne's Catholic Church. He Honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the City of Albuquerque Water Utilities Department after 28 and a half years of service. He was also involved in the prison ministry, Cursillo movement and many other ministries throughout the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. Services will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW. The Rosary will be recited on Monday, October 8, 2012 starting at 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating his life on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 9:00am. There will be a viewing both days beginning one hour prior to each service. Burial will follow mass at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30pm with U.S. Navy Honors. There will be a reception following burial at St. Anne's Parish Hall. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Chavez, Michael Chavez Jr., Josiah Chavez, AJ Chavez, Jonathan Saiz-Lopez, Isaiah Chavez, Daniel Gold, Robert Hill and David Hererra.
