Obituary for BRODY

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday October 07, 2012

BRODY, DEANNA (DEE) born 1937 in Chicago, passed away peacefully in her home on Aug. 23 of breast cancer. Dee was married for 45 wonderful years to Alan Brody and is survived by Alan and their three sons: Jacob, wife Mona, and grandchildren: Asher and Audrey; Joseph, wife Caitlin, and grandchildren: Eva and Devin, and son Daniel. Dee was also mother to son Mark Michelle, who passed away in 1994. Dee grew up in Chicago and she and Alan lived in Lincoln Park in Chicago and in Albuquerque, NM from 1977 through 1984. While their stay in Albuquerque was short, they created many lifelong friendships and continued to keep a home in Albuquerque and see their friends regularly. Dee and Alan traveled extensively and were blessed by many close friends. Dee knew how to laugh, have fun, and spread the fun like no one else. Both Dee and Alan were involved in support of the State of Israel, particularly of young Israeli men and women through the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF). In lieu of flowers please honor Dee's life with a donation to the FIDF (www.fidf.org). Memorial Service will be held promptly at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 19, at the Gardenswartz Jewish Community Center, 5520 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.
