MONTOYA, MARGARITA age 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loves ones on September 14, 2012. Margarita was born in Springer, New Mexico on April 19, 1919 to Fidelina and Fidel Apodaca. Her family moved to Bernalillo, New Mexico where she met and married her husband Abran Montoya of almost 65 years. They were married on October 20, 1940 and had 11 children together. She loved to dance in her younger years and also loved her animals. She especially loved and cared for her family and friends. Margarita was preceded in death by her husband Abran Montoya; father Fidel Apodaca; and mother Fidelina Apodaca; brothers Jose Apodaca and Luis Apodaca; and sister Aniceta Martinez. Margarita was also preceded in death by her sons Raymond Montoya and Leo Montoya; and daughter Olivia Gonzales. Margarita is survived by her brothers Lorenzo Apodaca, Robert (Bobby) and wife Lillian Apodaca. She is also survived by her children Cecelia Jaramillo, Rita Montoya, Telesfor (Paul) Montoya, Jose (Gene) Montoya, Nick Montoya, Georgina and Husband Archie Valencia, Leonard Montoya, Richie Montoya and Corina O'Neal. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Mom we thank you immensely for taking care of us to the best of your abilities and overcoming the trials and tribulations of raising such a large family. You taught us to love and care for others the way to did for us. We thank God for allowing us to have you as long as we did. You can rest now Mama for you are in the arms of the Lord. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service in celebration of her life will be held Friday, September 21st, 2012 at First Assembly of God church, 274 Camino Don Tomas Bernalillo, NM.
