Obituary for WYANT

WYANT, FRANCIS JOHN (FRANK) Age 63, passed away peacefully at home on September 10 due to pancreatic cancer. He was born on August 24, 1949 to John and Helen nee Brosnan Wyant in Des Moines, Iowa. After graduating from Detroit Cathedral High, he joined the United States Navy due to his fascination with nuclear power and served on nuclear submarines during the Vietnam war. After an Honorable Discharge, he enlisted in the Iowa Air National Guard while earning a Masters in Science for Nuclear Engineering at Iowa State University. He then moved his family to Albuquerque, New Mexico in order to work for Sandia National Laboratories. He retired from the Laboratory with numerous accomplishments. After thirty years he had written a large number of papers and had acquired a patent. At Faith in Christ Lutheran Church he was elected President of the congregation and appointed elder. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 49. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline and his four children, Vanessa; wife of Jayson Allen, Donald, Frances; wife of Scott Hofmann and Edward. He was a grandfather to Viviane Allen and Cora Hoover-Wyant. His surviving siblings are Nora, wife of Keith Halberg of Tennessee, Daniel, husband of Terry, and Richard, husband of Lorie of Michigan. He was uncle to John-Paul, Ari, Thomas, Josiah and Anna-Marie. Services will be held Monday, Sept. 17th, 11 AM at Faith in Christ Lutheran Church located at 1750 Faith Ct. in Albuquerque.
