Obituary for SANCHEZ

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Tuesday August 21, 2012

GENE Age 69, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, lovingly known as "Gino the Machino" passed away early morning August 18, 2012, with family by his side. His spirit and soul have transported into the hands of God in heaven. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Jane; sons, Ernie and wife Vicki, Damian and wife Lori, and Marc G. Sanchez; grandsons, Cameron and Damien Marcos; brothers, Frank and wife Rose and Manuel and wife Carol; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Gino was preceded in death by his parents, Amador and Leonedez Sanchez; and his sisters, Andrea and Tola. Gino loved life and lived it to its fullest everyday. His passions were golf, tennis, swimming, and nature. Gino had many career paths throughout his life but they always revolved around sales. You could say he had the "gift of gab." The greatest love of his life is his family, especially his grandsons. Those who golfed with him knew the joy and frustration of his score keeping and lost ball retrieval. Gino loved to be the center of attention. He was always willing to be the target of a friendly joke and provide laughs to those around him. To know him was to love him. He will be deeply missed and mourned by all who had the honor of meeting him.
