WALTER LEE JR. "HANK" Born in Washington, D.C. on June 26, 1921, passed away peacefully at home on August 6, 2012. Walter grew up in Chattanooga, TN where he joined the U.S. Army Air Force and served as a fighter pilot in World War II. After retiring from the Air Force, Walter worked for Sandia National Laboratories at Kirtland AFB. He was a volunteer pilot for Saint Jude's Express and volunteered at Albuquerque Civic Light Opera. Walter was preceded in death by his son John Charles Henderson and is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ida; his brother Robert and wife Carla; son Robert and wife Vicki; grandchildren Sheri and Michael and his wife, Andrea; great-grandchildren Nikolas and Alexander, Merri Dileanis and husband Bill, and their children Kara, Kimberly, Cliff and Kevin.
