Obituary for CLEARY

RICHARD NOLAN SR. Retired Army CWO4, age 91, born in Pittsburg, PA on October 15, 1920, a resident of Albuquerque since 1965, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012. Richard is survived by his wife of 62 years Faye Cleary; four children: Kathleen (Brad) Eslinger, Patricia (Walter) Nickerson, Richard (Claire) Cleary Jr. and Thomas (Denise) Cleary; daughter-in-law Ulrike Cleary; nine grandchildren: Tiffany, Walter, Sandra, Matthew, Danielle, Jason, Kevin, Aidan and Farren; three great-grandchildren: Taitum, Taryn and Declan; two sisters: Virginia Burke and Dolores Spragale; sister-in-law, Ann Cleary; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Margaret Cleary and son Michael John Cleary; brothers: Vincent, Gerard and William; sisters: Margaret and Kathleen. Richard's military career spanned WWII, Korean and Vietnam Wars retiring in 1968. Richard was a member of 80th Division Veterans Association, "Only Moving Forward"; VFW; DAV; The Retired Officers Association MOAA. He was a graduate of UNM. Friends may visit French - Lomas, Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 3:00 PM followed by Rosary/ Memorial at 4:00 pm. with Deacon Al McLane reciting. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 20, 2012, 9:00 am with reception to follow at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd NE, Albuquerque, with Fr. Norbert Choong, Celebrant. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery following reception. Grandchildren will serve as Pallbearers. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association, 2511 Utah St. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. End of life care was entrusted to Rehabilitation Center of ABQ. We thank the staff, Nurses, LPN's, CNA's for the compassion and LOVE given to Richard this past year.
