Obituary for PACHECO

BENNY born to Juan B. and Adela Pacheco (both deceased) on September 15, 1945 and was a life-long resident of Albuquerque. Benny lost a long battle with cancer on 7/25/12. He is survived by his children, Brian and wife Rochelle, Shane, J.B. and Albert, along with four grandchildren. Surviving siblings are Margie Tapia (Frank), Rosie Andrade (Eddie), Gloria Lucero (Gene), Gilferd (Lucy), George (Pam), Abel (Anna), Dellie Ipiotis (Todd Sharp), Lawrence (Seda) Anthony (Jan). He was preceded in death by siblings, Albert and Johnny Pacheco and Georgia Robles. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. A graduate of Albuquerque High, Benny also attended The Univ. of Alb., before entering the U.S. Army (Viet-Nam era). A skilled boxer, he was the Albuq. Bantam weight Champion, and also the U.S. Army European Bantam weight champ while stationed in West Germany. Benny owned several small businesses in Albuquerque, including Joneco Jewelery, a turquoise and silver manufacturing co. The family would like to thank all the caregivers from Ambercare (Liz, Juan, Barbara, Erica and Diane); Manzano Del Sol- Good Samaritan Society; as well as from V.A. Hospital-Hospice Unit. A Rosary and Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, June 30, 2012 at 8:30 am at the Shrine of St.Bernadette (Morris and Indian School Rd.)
