VIOLA Viola went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 7, 2012 at the age of 66. Viola was born in Tesuque, NM on July 19th, 1945 to Pedro and Erminia Montoya. Viola was preceded in death by her one and only love, Jose Mariano Lobato (Mi Tutse); sister Maclovia Archuleta; brother Demecio, Frankie Montoya; Madrina, Corine Nieto. She is survived by her children Consuelo Gares, husband Ricky, Ida Lobato and Martin Lobato; one grandson, her beloved "Angel Baby" Jaason Davis; sisters Frances Arellano, husband Beyo Arellano, Geraldine Montoya and Charlene Montoya; sister friends Gail Del Valle, Amy Manzanares and Luisa Martinez; brothers Augustine Montoya, wife Christina, Eddie Montoya, wife Viola; brother friend Steve Del Valle; sister cousins Vama Gaul and Inez Sena; brother cousin George Jimenez; beloved aunt Cecilia Griego and many nieces, nephews and godchildren. Viola was a very thoughtful and generous person who was always thinking of others before herself. No matter how sick or tough things were she always was joyful and had a smile on her face. She enjoyed cooking and feeding family and friends. Her joyful spirit, generosity and thoughtfulness will be missed by all who knew her. She battled cancer for her family and friends and wouldn't give up the fight. The family would like to thank Dr. Melanie Royce and all the staff at the UNM Cancer Center, Dr. Edward Fancovic, Dr. Chris Hanosh, Heritage Hospice and Chaplin Gary. Pallbearers will be Joseph Lobato, Renee Lobato, Danny Montoya, Steven Jimenez, Frankie Portillo and Bruce Gaul. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 6:00 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at Tesuque Cemetery.
