CARMEL Loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend went home to be with our Lord and Savior at the age of 85. She was born in Socorro, New Mexico to Juan and Teresa Vigil. Carmel was a devout Catholic who loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them as well as dancing and assisting with the Blind Association. She had the privilege to travel to Jerusalem where she visited three very special places, Petra, Masada and the Wailing Wall. She also enjoyed crocheting and was a great seamstress and above all a fierce and loyal friend. Carmel is survived by her sons, Clyde D. Davis and wife Juana, Charles D. Davis and special friend Doreen Chavez and Christopher D. Davis; grandchildren, Contessa Daniella Davis and Marissa Chavez; one sister, Maria Teresa Vigil "Tita"; niece, Josephine Terese (JoJo) Nunez and husband Paul; great-niece, Onastine Nunez; and numerous other family members and friends. A Visitation will take place at Holy Spirit Cathedral, 1001 Barelas Rd. SW on Sunday June 3, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm followed by a reciting of the Rosary at 6:00 pm, led by Bishop Orlando Trujillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Cathedral on Monday, June 4, 2012 10:00 am; Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
