ROSE Born April 1, 1916, passed away peacefully on May 23 at the age of 96 with her loving granddaughter by her side. Born in Manhattan, NY, Rose was the only child of the late Anna Weiss and stepfather, Leb Mandel. She was a secretary for many years at the NY Public Library and avid world traveler. Rose relocated from Brooklyn to Albuquerque, NM for her retirement. Rose loved to throw dinner parties for her friends to show photos and discuss her experiences from such destinations as Afghanistan, Vietnam, Greece, Iran, China, Russia, and India. She loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed visits from her great-grandchildren, Kyle and Megan. She also enjoyed playing bridge, crossword puzzles and matching wits with those around her. She was predeceased by her ex-husband, Harry Messer; her daughter, Martha Czerwinski. She leaves behind a granddaughter, Roberta Steele, with great-grandchildren, Kyle and Megan, and a grandson, Joseph Czerwinski with great-grandsons, Jason and Ethan. Special thanks to all her caregivers including the staff at LVL, Anita and Lindsay, the staff at Presbyterian Hospital, Hospice and to Kyle and Megan.
