LUCILE Died April 24, 2012 at the age of 85. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Manuel Altamirano; their son, Mark and his wife, Cecelia, of San Francisco, CA and their son, Jim and his wife, Kelly, of Albuquerque; their grandchildren, Tom, James, Sophia and Arlo: and her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Mal Mellington of Virginia. Lucile graduated from the University of Maryland and joined the US Armed Services as a physical therapist. While stationed at Ft. Bening, she met and married Dr. Altamirano. Lucile left her career in the army to raise her family. They moved to Albuquerque in 1954 and called it home ever after. Lucy loved tennis, skiing, and swimming; she traveled extensively and had a passion for reading and opera. Her friends and family will miss her humor and her generosity. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial will follow.
