HAROLD W. Beloved husband, father, brother, friend, Harold W. Ideus, passed away on May 5, 2012, after a brief and courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Born in Victoria, Texas, on November 25, 1947, he was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Evelyn Ideus, as well as his daughter Amy. Known as Tex by many of his friends, he was a consummate storyteller who was often characterized by his uniquely Harold laugh that cracked even the sternest senses of humor. His heart was as big as his beloved home state of Texas. After graduating from Victoria High School, he joined the Air Force. During his service, he met his wife and best friend of 43 years, Susan Myers of Albuquerque. After serving in Vietnam he entered civilian life and lived in Missouri, New Mexico, and Texas before retiring in Las Cruces, NM. His tireless work ethic, endless compassion, and deep faith shaped many young lives, especially during his time at Sacramento Methodist Assembly. Harold is already sorely missed by his wife Susan; daughter Becca and son-in-law Nathan Taylor; daughter Johanna Ideus; stepmother Janice Ideus; siblings and their families: Robert and Rosalyn Ideus, John and Dette Ideus, LaNell Moore, Jim and Pam Borchert, Heath and Tammy Borchert, Joe Borchert, and Clayne Ideus; brother-in-law Ken Myers, wife Barb, and family; brother-in-law Jim Myers; uncle Leslie Fuhrman and extended family; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and countless friends and colleagues. Memorial service will be held at Christ United Methodist Church on Friday, May 11, at 2:00 pm, 6200 Gibson SE, Albuquerque with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the stucco fund of Christ United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Direct Services 2919 4th St NW, Albuquerque.
