GUERVIN JR. "ABE" Sergeant Major Guervin A. Perry, Jr., or Abe as he preferred, was born in Peoria, IL on June 19, 1932 and returned home to our Lord on April 28, 2012 after a long illness. Abe was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle. Abe is survived by his wife, Julia; his son, Greg; his daughter, Denise and her husband, Rick; and by his granddaughter, Julie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guervin Perry and Martha Perry; his brother, George Perry; his sister, Lorraine Butler; and his son, Steven Perry. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the VA Medical Center Palliative Care/Hospice Unit. Their compassionate care is greatly appreciated. A memorial service for Abe will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 10:00 am at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel. A reception will follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the NM Chapter of the American Parkinson's Disease Association in Abe's name.
