Obituary for CAPERTON

JOHN F. JR. Formerly of Albuquerque died in Sarasota, Florida on April 23, 2012. Caperton was born in Santiago, Cuba on August 29, 1919 and was raised there by his American missionary parents. He is survived by three children: John F. Caperton III, Jill Caperton and David Caperton and by a grandchild and a great-grandchild. He was a WWII veteran who received the Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross having served in the Pacific as a bombardier/navigator in the Army Air Corps. He became a pilot after the war. In retirement he was an accomplished artist and member of the New Mexico Art League. He was also active in Toastmasters for many years. Funeral services will take place on May 11, 2012 at the Sarasota National Cemetery at 10:30 eastern time. Donations in Caperton's name can be sent to: www.maculardegeneration.org
