Obituary for BARRAZA

ELOY A. Age 74, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 1, 2012. Eloy was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Irma, and his loving wife of 50 years, Reyna. Mr. Barraza is survived by his four children, Betty Jaramillo and husband Nathaniel, Maria Dolores Barraza, Eloy Jr. Barraza, and Ruben Barraza and Sylvia Rodriquez; and his six grandchildren whom he loved very, very much, Sarah, Nathan, and Amanda Jaramillo, Alan J., Mario, and Isaiah Barraza-Martinez; his sister Elsa; brothers Jesus, Tomas, Lucas, Eddie, Antonio; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. His ever present companion was his beloved Chihuahua "Blackie". Eloy was passionate about his family, music, and gardening. He and Reyna enjoyed spending time together visiting flea markets, shopping, and eating out with the family. Eloy had a wonderful sense of humor and had incredible wisdom. Eloy lived the American dream, he immigrated from Mexico at 12 years of age, later met Reyna in Moriarty, married, became a U.S. citizen, bought a house, and had four children. Eloy worked hard to become successful and a success he was! Eloy will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We know that his painful existence without Reyna is over as they are now reunited in heaven forever. A celebratory memorial will be held Friday, May 4th, at Tower Road Baptist Church (601 86th St. SW), at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 5th, at St. Edwin Catholic Church (2105 Barcelona Rd SW) at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
