DONALD JOSEPH SR. September 23, 1939 - April 24, 2012 Donald is survived by his wife, Catherine La Brake; twelve children, Donald Joseph Junior, Michael Patrick, Timothy Jude, Colleen Marie, Kateri Bernadette, Shannon Eileen, Guadalupe Julianna, Sean Anthony, Dominic Paul, Luke Mathew, Marcelino Francis, and Noel Chabenel; and thirteen of his own brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Mark and his parents, George and Hilda La Brake. Donald was born in Ogdensburg, NY and during his school years was awarded for music and science. He was also published in Readers Digest and was Valedictorian of his graduating class. Donald leaves a legacy of at least 35 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who all loved him dearly. He was a devoted and loving father and faithful husband. Donald was actively involved in his Catholic Faith which was the mainstay of his life. He spent some time in the United States Air Force and retired from the Forest Service. Donald was a master of many trades. Throughout his life, he supported his family with his talents of construction, carpentry, and leather crafting, which was a favorite hobby of his. If there was something that needed doing Donald could and would do it. A Rosary will be recited Friday, April 27 at 6:30 pm at French - Westside Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 28, 10:00 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 5800 Ouray Road NW. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
