VERN (PETE) Age 87, passed away at home April 9, 2012. He was born February 14, 1925, in Springfield, MO. He is survived by his wife of sixty four years Joy Meldrum; three children, Ron Meldrum and wife Janet, Vic Meldrum and wife Janis, Ruth Elwell and husband William; seven grandchildren, Cindy and Marty Graham, Heather Britt, Bryan Meldrum, Kyle Meldrum, Tyler Elwell, Brett Elwell and Tory Elwell; six great-grandchildren, Zach Graham, Sarah Graham, Alexis Graham, Tyler Wayne Britt, Garett Britt and Logan Meldrum. Pete served in the Navy during World War II. He enjoyed golfing, hiking, cross-country skiing, square dancing and traveling the United States in their motor home. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He and Joy lived in Albuquerque for forty two years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Presbyterian Hospice Services, www.phs.org.
