MARTHA NEAL (MARTY) died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Santa Fe on April 11. She was born in Chelsea, MA on February 3, 1963. She spent her formative years in the Colorado foothills, and in Albuquerque before attending college at New Mexico State University. Following graduation, she settled in Santa Fe where she lived for the past 25 years, working in the mortgage industry. Marty was a beloved sister, daughter, aunt and loyal friend. She loved nurturing her friendships over dinner or a glass of wine, exploring the southwest by hiking and camping or spending a quiet weekend with a new book. Her positive attitude and genial insistence on sharing laughter as if it were a daily supplement, attracted many friends. She was well respected in the Santa Fe real estate community and led an active spiritual life. She had a beautiful smile and personal warmth that will be greatly missed. She is survived by her parents, Virginia Neal of Sandia Park, NM and James Neal and his wife Harriet Neal of Prescott, AZ, her sister Rebecca Neal and brother-in-law Neal Richardson of Denver, CO, sister Ruth Neal of Albuquerque, brother Matthew Neal, sister-in-law Amy Neal and nieces Hannah and Emily Neal of Albuquerque, and her special companion Dennis Kensil of Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of Holy Faith where Marty was a faithful member, or to a charity of your choice , in her name. A Memorial Service will be held on April 22, at 2 p.m at The Church of Holy Faith, 311 East Palace Avenue in Santa Fe, with a Celebration Reception immediately following in Palen Hall.
