ADERNICE M. Age 86, beloved and devoted mother and grandmother, was embraced by the Lord and taken to her heavenly home, Tuesday, March 27, 2012. She was born in Grand Junction, CO and was a long time resident of Alameda, NM. Adernice was the last of 20 children born to the late Avelino and Alcarita Martinez. She was a wonderful cook, known by many as the cook at Taylor Middle School. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and participating in the activities at the Senior Center. Adernice will be fondly remembered as a quiet loving lady with integrity, leaving a legacy of strength and dignity. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reynaldo Martinez; children, Linda Martinez and Cathy Garcia; and grandson, Charles Bazan. Adernice is survived by her children, Manuel S. Martinez and wife Dolores of California, Frances J. Bazan of Glendale, AZ, Reynaldo "Lee" Martinez and wife Frances of Albuquerque, Rubel Martinez and wife Betty Jean of California, and Angela M. Martinez of Albuquerque; 68 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. Adernice will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Final Viewing will be Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services - Alameda Mortuary, 9420 Fourth Street NW. Service of Christian Burial will be Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Casket Bearers will be Adam Martinez, Charles Sandoval, Robert Martinez, Reynaldo L. Martinez, Jr., Patrick Bazan and Nickolas Bazan-Taylor. Honorary Bearers will be Loren Black and Brian Vallejos.
