Obituary for TABET

SAMUEL (SAM) K. SR. Age 87, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on March 28, 2012 at home with his loving family by his side. Mr. Tabet is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-two years, Louise Tabet; children, Samuel K. Tabet Jr. and wife, Jane, Kathi Tabet and husband, Damian Rodriguez, and Teena Tabet and, husband, Jonathan Lawton; sister, Thelma Milner; sister-in-law, Adela Tabet; granddaughters, Lisa Everett and husband, Peter V, Emily Tabet, and Phobe Lawton; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Madeline, and Peter VI; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Tabet was preceded in death by his parents, Kelil and Severa Tabet; brother, George Tabet; sisters, Lola Daher, Adela Trujillo, Alice Trujillo, Helen Jimenez, Anne Tabet, and Mary Lopez. Mr. Tabet was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII, and retired from Sandia National Labs after thirty-two years of service. Mr. Tabet was an avid baseball/softball player, an umpire for the City of Albuquerque for 12 years, and was honored as an inductee in the Albuquerque Baseball Hall of Fame. He was also an avid hunter, loved the outdoors, dancing, good music and horse racing. Visitation will be Friday at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW from 9:45 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 10:15 a.m., Deacon Gene Tuma, presider. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following the Rosary at 11:00 a.m., Father Gene Gries, presider. Interment will follow at Mr. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Lawton, Peter Everett, Clyde Lopez, Margarito Baca, Vivian Sanchez, and John Barela. Honorary pallbearers will be Damian Rodriguez, and Ben Urias.
