GEORGE ROBERT Was deceased on January 11, 2012 in Albuquerque, NM. Bob was born on September 24, 1923 in Tuscola, Illinois to Ethel Myers Sharp and Roy William Sharp. He grew up in Vidalia, Illinois. Bob had no siblings. He attended and graduated from The University of Illinois with a degree in Architecture. He moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico in 1947 where he met Emily Daily of Kansas City, Mo. They were married in Kansas, City Missouri on April 23, 1949. They lived and worked in Los Alamos. Bob and Emily had their first son, Herley Dana Sharp on November 14, 1950 and then twins, Amanda and Joel Myers Sharp on November 8, 1952. Joel, unfortunately did not survive. Melissa was born on December 30, 1954. They moved to Albuquerque in 1955 and Amy was born on March 7, 1959. Bob was hired as the first architect at Sandia National Laboratories in 1957 where he worked until his retirement in 1988. Bob was an accomplished architect and artist. His family enjoyed growing up in unique and beautiful homes that he designed and built. He enjoyed participating in many arts and crafts exhibitions with Emily, who was also an accomplished artist. While living in Placitas, NM they participated in the Placitas Artists Series annually until Emily passed in 2004. Bob enjoyed attending the Santa Fe Opera as well as plays and shows at Popejoy Hall and the Albuquerque Little Theater. He was a superb cook and a talented gardener. His children will remember him for being a wonderful father and for his extraordinary talents. He was preceded in death by his wife Emily in 2004; son Herley Dana in 2002; and son Joel Myers in 1952. Surviving are three daughters, Amanda (Richard) Thompson, Trinidad, CO, Amy (Steve) Rhutasel, Albuquerque, NM, Melissa Sharp Reyes (Paul), Moline, Illinois, daughter-in-law Jeanette Sharp of Houston, TX, and Jeanette's son Brent Kirby, Austin, TX. His grandchildren are, Liza Norris (Scott), Magdalyn Sharp, Emma Barros (Ron), Erin Peterson, Justin Sharp, Robert Peterson, Mariah Rhutasel, Quentin Rhutasel; and great-grandson Austin Norris. He will be greatly missed.
