LUCY JULIA LUCERO Age 54, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 from complications of Wegner's Granulomatosis. Lucy fought a courageous yearlong battle with the disease and is now at peace. Born January 9, 1957 in Fulda, Germany to Abran D. and Helga E. Lucero of Albuquerque, she lived the majority of her life in New Mexico. Lucy attended schools in Grants, Gallup and graduated in 1975 from West Mesa High School. A home filled with floral arrangements, color, music and the scents of baking, Lucy spent her time creating a comforting and supportive place for her family. Her constant, energetic aura, unconditional love, and unfailing strength guided her children throughout their lives. Lucy deeply believed in family; daily phone calls with frequent visits were examples of her devoted and attentive nature. Lucy is survived by her parents; sister, Linda Lucero Hughes; brother, Larry A. Lucero; daughters, Christina J. Juarez, Andrea L. Juarez, Julie R. Lucero (deceased); son, Donald A. Juarez Jr; grandchildren, Adrianna, Dominique, Alizae and Larry Jr. Cremation has taken place and ashes will be buried at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Albuquerque, during a private memorial service.
