Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday January 08, 2012

NAOMI E. (LIZ) Age 80, of Rio Rancho NM, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2012 in Albuquerque after a long battle with dementia. Liz was born in Lowell, IN to Roy and Edna Melton. She was one of six children including sisters, Dorothy, Elsie, Doris, Barbara, and Marge. She was married to Kenneth B. Homan, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Paul of Albuquerque, NM, Richard of Anchorage, AK and Kenneth (Jim) of Rio Rancho, NM; sisters, Elsie, Barbara, and Marge; five grandchildren, Tanya Stanley of Spring Hill, TN, Jamie Kraft of Houston, TX, Zachary Homan of Anchorage, AK, Joshua Homan of Anchorage, AK, and Jennifer Homan of Rio Rancho; three great-grandchildren, Alayna, Stanley, Jonah Stanley all of Spring Hill, TN, and Colton Lee Homan of Anchorage, AK. Her relentless faith in God sustained her while raising her three sons throughout her life. Liz lived in the Portage/Hobart, IN area for most of her life until she and Kenneth moved to Rio Rancho in 1984 after Kenneth's retirement. They loved the NM culture, climate, and geography; especially the soaring vistas of the Sandia and Manzano mountains, the Bosque and the Albuquerque city lights which they enjoyed from the sunroom they built on their home just so they could view the sights each day and night. Liz was a dedicated homemaker and loved her family deeply. Her smile, wit, sense of humor, sparkling blue (her favorite color) eyes, and loving nature are just a small part of the legacy she leaves with all who knew and loved her.
