RUTH V. On January 5th, 2012 a loyal follower of Christ, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and family mentor was called home to her final resting place with our Lord. Ruth Virginia (Jean) Riddle was born in Syracuse, Indiana on March 1, 1917, the 8th of 8 children born to Leroy and Winnie Riddle. In the 1930's she was influenced by her sister Kathleen to come to Silver City, New Mexico and attend New Mexico State Teachers College. After her husband served in World War II the family moved to Chicago where Doc subsequently received his degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. The Nicholson's then moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where James began an optometry practice and later Jean began teaching at Kaune Elementary school. Jean was a longtime faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years. She held many offices in the women's group and sang in the choir. She also enjoyed many years with the Christian Women's Club and a local garden society. For the past 14 years, Jean lived in Albuquerque at Brookdale Place and had many friends and such good times while living there.
